Order of Earth by Jennifer Cornet
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The best urban fantasy book I have read in a long time and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. Order of the Earth is also a coming of age story. I like that it was filled with supernatural, fantasy. The plot was well developed and interesting.
The description of the book is but a taste of what is to come. Nothing prepares you for Onyx’s story. This book maybe for a young adult audience but an adult reader will also enjoy it. It is a well written story with enough detail to keep you interested without too many boring or unnecessary descriptions. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good fantasy read with a strong female lead.

The Soul of the World (Legends of Amun Ra, #2) by Joshua Silverman @jg_silverman #ReviewShare
The Soul of the World by Joshua Silverman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Authors such as Joshua Silverman make me envious because I know I will never have the skills to create an out of body experience like he has done with Portara. He has excellent writing skills and his imagination will strike wonder in the worst of readers.
As I passed from the first book to the second, I couldn’t wait to be involved with the characters who by now were real people to me. While The Soul of the World can be read as a stand alone (although you won’t enjoy it as much) there are some questions that are better answered if you read the series in sequence. When you get to the last chapter you get the feeling that more is developing and I can’t wait for the third book.
Engaging, entertaining and it offered me an escape on my daily commute. What more could I ask for? Must read.

Loving Conor: A Clairvoyant's #Memoir on Loving, Bonding & Healing by @TamiUrbanek #reviewshare
Loving Conor: A Clairvoyant's Memoir on Loving, Bonding and Healing by Tami Arlene Urbanek
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loving Conor is an excellent read. As a young mom who experienced domestic violence for a large portion of my life, I could definitely relate with to this book. From the very first page, I was hooked on reading the story and seeing what twists and turns would come next. I read this book at a great speed because it was so engaging the entire time. I learned lessons from the book and I even got into my emotions throughout some parts of the story because I flashed back on times when I was the one wondering when anger would cease and looking for acceptance from men.
I liked how the author incorporated her entire journey throughout the book and ended with her daughter’s voice. I am a mom of three young boys but I feel my story may be similar to hers.
If you are a woman who has suffered domestic abuse or is currently experiencing it you definitely need to read this book. It will open up your eyes and show you not only how you are hurting yourselves by staying in abusive relationships but how you are hurting your children too. I can tell that the author really put her feelings into this book, which is what makes it an excellent read.
The book not only covers domestic abuse though. It goes into how to heal from it and how to learn from mistakes and seek out healthier relationships. There are just so many heartwarming things that you learn from this magnificent read.

Stormy Weather by Dermot Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Heartwarming and finished way too soon. I never thought 132 pages would fly by so fast. Despite the somewhat deep plot, the fast paced book kept me wondering what was going to happening next, what truly is real and imaginary and how reality is largely a function of each individual's perception.
The author does a good job of changing points of view between characters without causing any jolts. Imaginative and entertaining! This book surprisingly touched my heart and wrung me of my emotions. I'm normally a sucker for book covers and this cover was pretty boring, BUT don't let that fool you as the story is nothing like the grey, gloomy cover.
'Pause now to ask yourself the following question: "Am I dreaming or awake right now?" Be serious, really try to answer the question to the best of your ability and be ready to justify your answer." My favourite quote from the book and like Robert Munro, the main character, we all want to justify everything that happens. Life, death, love, hate, if we cannot justify it, it can't be true. Or can it? Lovely, lovely read.

Flight of the Tarantula Hawk - Lance Underphal #Mystery by @MAllanScott #reviewshare #suspense
Flight of the Tarantula Hawk - A Lance Underphal Mystery by Michael Allan Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a killer book! The action was constant and I didn't want to finish it because then my escape with Underphal would come to an abrupt end and Lance is a delish character to spend your time with. The thing that made this book scary was that it was a very believable story and was definitely one of the best dark thriller books I have read in a long time.
The female characters had this femme fatale feel to them and everytime Naomi crossed and uncrossed her legs, Sharon Stone came to mind. Was it sexist? I don't think so. The female characters were alluring but in a way that they fit into the story. The attraction had to be there for the reader and other characters.
I was so intrigued with this story and the twists and turns that I couldn't put it down. Some scenes left me scratching my head and wanting nothing more than to read on. Some scenes were touching too like when Lacey and Lance talk, he doesn't want her there but then he needs her and he doesn't know it. Ah. The twists and turns of the fictional friend. A book that is worth your time and money. I really enjoyed this book and so will you! Thank you Mr. Scott and please do continue with similar great reads.

Brain: The Man Who Wrote the Book That Changed the World by Dermot Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Have You Ever Had To CATCH YOUR BREATH After Reading a Book? That's what is going to happen to you after reading Brain. For every self-published author who thinks visibility is but a dream, he or she must read this book for a lighter view about the publishing industry.
The scenarios are to the point of bizarre. Daniel is a good writer but when supply is unable to meet demand, he cloaks himself in anonymity with some scenes that had me chuckling from start to finish.
Character development, especially of Daniel, was first rate and I liked the fact that despite the irony and humour, the author was able to include twists and turns which I didn't see coming. Welcome to a world of ordinary folk caught in a series of whacky situations. Highly recommended.
