Heartwarming and finished way too soon. I never thought 132 pages would fly by so fast. Despite the somewhat deep plot, the fast paced book kept me wondering what was going to happening next, what truly is real and imaginary and how reality is largely a function of each individual's perception.

The author does a good job of changing points of view between characters without causing any jolts. Imaginative and entertaining! This book surprisingly touched my heart and wrung me of my emotions. I'm normally a sucker for book covers and this cover was pretty boring, BUT don't let that fool you as the story is nothing like the grey, gloomy cover.

'Pause now to ask yourself the following question: "Am I dreaming or awake right now?" Be serious, really try to answer the question to the best of your ability and be ready to justify your answer." My favourite quote from the book and like Robert Munro, the main character, we all want to justify everything that happens. Life, death, love, hate, if we cannot justify it, it can't be true. Or can it? Lovely, lovely read.

Brain: The Man Who Wrote the Book That Changed the World by Dermot Davis

Have You Ever Had To CATCH YOUR BREATH After Reading a Book? That's what is going to happen to you after reading Brain. For every self-published author who thinks visibility is but a dream, he or she must read this book for a lighter view about the publishing industry.

The scenarios are to the point of bizarre. Daniel is a good writer but when supply is unable to meet demand, he cloaks himself in anonymity with some scenes that had me chuckling from start to finish.

Character development, especially of Daniel, was first rate and I liked the fact that despite the irony and humour, the author was able to include twists and turns which I didn't see coming. Welcome to a world of ordinary folk caught in a series of whacky situations. Highly recommended.

Martin functions as storyteller, main character and a PIN "person in need" which isn't always as amusing as I hoped it would be. From my personal experience PINS are self-centred, absorbed with their own problems and have no clue or feelings about what others feel.

Was the author poking fun at romantic comedies in general? Or was he poking fun at the women who usually play the lead characters in such romantic comedies. Either way, Martin wasn't appealing to me as a main character and I much preferred Frances over him as someone who had something to bring to the story.

Martin's age got me thinking a lot. He is said to be 24 and looking for a long-term relationship, beyond the wedding he is going for. Most single men at this age go to weddings to find a girl. Secondly, the Martin / Frances relationship also felt that the author was being sarcastic about older women dating younger men.

I read this book twice, no technical fault to plot, setting or character development. I did laugh and I did feel the love but I wasn't swept off my feet or have that warm feeling that romantic comedies give you.
