Author Interview – Christoph Paul

Can we expect any more books from you in the future? A ton, I just finished a collection of poetry called ‘Buy This Poetry Book So I Can Afford Therapy’ which should be out this summer and I am finishing the rough draft of my first YA book.

Are you reading any interesting books at the moment?

Yes ‘Horns’ by Joe Hill it is really devilishly fun.

Are there any new authors that have sparked your interest and why? Jason Najum is a new indie writer I like for his voice and showing that indie can be a way for new interesting voices to be heard.

What are some of the best tools available today for writers, especially those just starting out? Craft books and good novels. That and finding time to write.

What contributes to making a writer successful? I don’t know yet but I think it has to be sticking with it and making sure to also find ways to market that feel good to your soul.

What do you do to unwind and relax? Terrible for a writer to say but to watch a good TV show. Sorry.

What is your favorite food? I love Thai food, I could eat Thai food every day.

Do you have any upcoming appearances that you would like to share with us? I have some readings come up in the NYC area in the month of May that will be exciting

If you could leave your readers with one bit of wisdom, what would you want it to be? Writing and selling = Read 45%. Tweet 10%. Write 45%

When you wish to end your career, stop writing, and look back on your life, what thoughts would you like to have? I spilled out my well of stories and can die a happy prune of a man.
