Author Interview – Elvis Deane

Do you find the time to read? I go through periods of reading, but longer periods of not reading.

Last book you purchased? Tell us about it. A biography of an aircraft designer that I bought for work.  It’s interesting to read about someone who had such an effect on the world with their life’s work and yet no one would know them at all.

Can you tell us about your main character? Pistachio is a bratty little prince thrown out of his life of luxury and having to learn what it’s like to not be pampered and waited on hand and foot.

Who designed the cover? Samantha Turnbull drew the fantastic cover illustration.  I sent her a photo of a Winston Churchill portrait and asked her for something along those lines.

Who is your publisher? It’s self-published under my own company, Impossibilia

Why did you choose to write this particular book? I started writing it at a time where I was trying to figure out what my political views were and what kind of world I’d want to live in, what kind of leader I’d like to live under.  The ideas of philosophy in action versus theories on a page.

What was the hardest part about writing this book? Deciding the fate of the characters.
